A fun matches is like a dog agility trial, except that the rules are much more relaxed and your performance is not judged. You can sometimes use treats in the ring and generally do whatever you want in the ring for about 90 seconds. There are usually two courses, one for beginnings and one which is more advanced.
Magic Momo Superdog (shown at left) is coming out of a tunnel at a fun match,. She participated in many fun matches before you actually competed in trials.
This helped her a lot! She got over her nervousness and by the time she actually went to trial as a Novice competitor, she was ready to double Q!
Finding out about Fun Matches can sometimes be difficult. That's why I decided to list some dog agility fun match resources here. I am starting with Northern California, but will more later. Feel free to contact me if you know of other Fun Matches and I will add them to this web page. Thanks!
